Return to the Valley
This sweeping landscape scene captures the beautiful Teme Valley, which I am fortunate enough to call home. For me, the return of the swallows in late spring is a sign of the longer and warmer days of summer. When the fields are endless shades of green through to gold and the light has such clarity.
When travelling in Africa, during the winter months, I always look out for the swallows and say to them, 'see you when you get home'. It fascinates me that these delicate birds can travel all that way on their migrations, between two of my favourite places on earth. When they return to our home valley it is always a welcome and pleasing sight.
