The Golden Egg

Image of The Golden Egg

This rich scene features a mother goose and gander with their goslings and an unhatched golden egg. Surrounding the scene are many different species of water birds with reeds and ducks flying by in the distance. The piece is a nod to the classic fable but also showcases the beauty of the Nene, the world's rarest goose. They were bought back from the brink of extinction through captive breeding programmes like the one at Slimbridge wetland centre in Gloucestershire where the studies for this piece were made.

This piece measures 86 x 35 cm with a 5cm white surround in which the piece is hand signed, named and numbered. The piece is sold in a limited edition of 50.

This piece will be sent rolled in a tube due to it's size.
